Faster solver
Modernized Numerical Solver and Performance Optimization
AXISVM 27 introduces the AxMKL numerical solver, based on the Intel® Math Kernel Library (Intel® MKL), replacing the previous proprietary solver. The new approach takes advantage of modern processor capabilities, including optimized numerical operations, vector instructions, and parallel execution.
What this means for you
- Significantly reduced calculation time — up to 14x faster
- New AxMKL solver based on Intel® MKL for linear and nonlinear static analysis
- No separate equation-system optimization phase, reducing unnecessary preprocessing
- Efficient use of modern multi-core processors, vector instructions, and multithreaded execution
- The biggest performance gains are achieved on large and complex models

Major development across the board
This isn't a single update. AXISVM 27 brings together five major development packages, covering analysis and modeling, reinforced concrete, documentation, wind simulation, and construction stages — alongside important BIM and structural modeling developments.
Analysis & Modeling
New result components, advanced modeling tools, and enhanced evaluation capabilities across nonlinear analysis, stability, pushover analysis, load combinations, and SLS verification.
Highlights include:
- Purlin modeling wizard for quick and consistent purlin system creation
- Support for eccentric load panel modeling
- Improved handling of gaps between load panels
- New force convergence error result components for nonlinear analysis
- Nonlinear analysis considering the sequence of permanent and variable loads
- Signed combination method for Modal Response Spectrum Analysis
- Dual SLS checks for steel and timber members
The new purlin modeling wizard allows users to define a rectangular roof surface and automatically place purlins based on specified section types, spacing, overlaps, connections, and other parameters.

Reinforced Concrete
New tools and performance improvements make reinforced concrete design more efficient and transparent:
- Group design parameter assignment of selected reinforced concrete beams
- Group punching shear design
- Reinforced concrete slab design summary
- Crack analysis in the RC6 module
- Consideration of axial force in beam reinforcement design
- Automatic updating of support parameters from foundation design
- Direct display of the critical punching shear perimeter
- Significantly faster punching shear and reinforced concrete beam calculations
Documentation
New documentation capabilities make it easier to prepare, customize, and review engineering reports:
- Report export to .docx
- Compact summary extracts for detailed design calculations
- Summary-only reports
- Improved documentation of load cases and combinations
- More flexible drawing handling and resizing
- Live documentation preview
More
The WIND development packages introduce new tools for wind tunnel model preparation and CFD simulation, including shrinkwrap-based geometry smoothing, surface roughness and wind friction effects, and numerical wind tunnel grounds for high-rise buildings. CFD geometry and surface meshes can also be previewed directly in AXISVM, helping improve simulation reliability and reduce computational time.
The STG development package brings greater flexibility to construction stage analysis with expanded support for connection elements, prestressing effects, and stage-based activation of permanent loads. Critical results can now be displayed as envelopes across construction stages and the final state, providing a clearer and more unified view of extreme values.
AXISVM 27 extends interoperability with BIM and parametric design workflows including Revit 2027 support, GrasshopperToAXISVM V9.0 with reinforced concrete design data, AXISVM importeur component upgrades and other enhancements, while SAF 2.1 and 2.2 support for enhanced structural data exchange.

New SD3 module
Cold-formed steel design in AXISVM
AXISVM 27 introduces the SD3 module, dedicated to the design of thin-walled cold-formed steel sections, primarily purlins, according to EN 1993-1-3.
The module brings the workflow into AXISVM — from modeling groups of purlins and considering shear field effects through result evaluation and code checks to documentation and material take-off tables.
SD3 includes
- Design of thin-walled cold-formed steel sections
- EN 1993-1-3 compliant design
- Extended cold-formed steel material library
- New cold-formed section database
- C, Z, Sigma, Sigma+, and S section types
- Definition of flange and web stiffeners
- Manufacturer-based section libraries, including Pruszyński, Lindab and Metsec

AI assistance within AXISVM
Practical AI, integrated into the engineering workflow
AXISVM 27 introduces new AI features, designed to help users find information, understand the software, and work more efficiently.
AI where it is actually useful.

AI Selection Tool
AI is also being introduced directly into the modeling workflow, helping users select relevant model elements more efficiently.
Instead of relying exclusively on manual selection, AI-assisted text based selection makes it easier to work with complex models and identify the elements required for a particular task.
AI Chatbot & Technical Answer Database
The new AI Chatbot replaces the traditional Help functionality with natural-language assistance.
Describe an issue or question in your own words and the chatbot can recommend relevant technical answers and related solutions.
Its knowledge base is supported by the Technical Answer Database, containing technical information derived from processed support cases and structured around AXISVM manuals, guides, knowledge bases and webinars.
Preparing for the next generation of Eurocodes
Second-generation Eurocodes are already entering AXISVM
AXISVM 27 starts implementing the new standards so that users can begin familiarizing themselves with the new requirements during the transition period.
The AXISVM 27 release includes planned support for:
- EN 1990 — 2nd generation
- EN 1993-1-1 — 2nd generation
- EN 1996-1-1 — 2nd generation
- EN 1992-1-1 — 2nd generation, initially with limited scope for columns and beams
The implementation will be introduced incrementally as the relevant standards and national provisions become available.

Refreshed user experience
Easier access. Clearer interface. Smoother workflows.
AXISVM 27 introduces a refreshed user interface together with a new AXISVM Launcher — a modern, central hub for accessing your models, managing your licences, and keeping up with relevant news and software updates.

AXISVM Launcher
The new Launcher provides a single starting point for:
- Accessing and launching your models
