Error when installing update package – code 5

Problem description #

An error occurs while trying to install the software update.
All errors which mention files with “dll” extension belong to this issue.

Reason #

Installing the update package without administrator rights and the program can’t replace old DLL files under AxisVM.

Solution #

  • After downloading the latest Service Pack, the installation file can be found in the Updates folder under the AxisVM folder.
    Click on it with the mouse right button and choose the “Run as administrator“ option.
  • If it doesn’t work, try to start !UNREGISTER_DOT_NET_ADDONPLUGIN_SERVER_v1.0.BAT from the AxisVM folder before you install the new package.
