New Features in AxisVM X4
• Store previous revisions
Storing previous revisions of the model allows going back in time. Save, reopen, lock or unlock previous revisions including or ignoring autosave files and results. The number of revisions kept can also be customized.
Store previous revisions.
• Animations can be saved to animated GIF files
Export animations using this format supported by all recent web browsers.
Use this format with lossless compression when saving drawings as bitmaps or exporting reports to RTF format. Smaller than BMP, higher quality than JPG.
• Transparent labels are optional
AxisVM uses transparent labels by default. Now transparency can be deactivated.
Display options / Labels / Transparent labels
• Preventing labels from overlapping (optional)
Activate this function (Window / Prevent labels from overlapping) if you need a clearer picture. AxisVM slightly adjusts labels and hides the less important ones. Processing may take a long time for diagrams with a huge number of labels.
Also available in Display options / Labels
Graphic symbols: Configurable local system colors and line width values.
Graphic symbols: Configurable line element diagram fill colors and line width values.
Error messages are displayed in a tree structure instead of a list.
Importing tapered slabs and walls from Revit – REV module.
• New parametric cross-sections
New parametric cross-sections: cross, 4L, butterfly.
Toolbar for moving nodes: Chamfer / fillet.
Extend lines to meet other lines / planes .
Trim lines to meet other lines / planes.
Extend lines to their point of intersection.
• New SD8 module - Fire load cases
Fire load cases / load groups, fire parameters assignable to line elements.
Fire load groups and fire load cases can be defined. Fire design parameters can be assigned to beams, trusses, ribs made of steel to perform enhanced steel design checking the structure against the required fire resistance time.
• New load panel functions
Distributing loads over elements in the active parts only, distributing loads over holes has been made optional.
• Wind loads on substructures – SWG module
Wind loads can be assigned on substructures with different roof types and other parameters. It is also possible to create separate load cases for each substructure. New structure types: monopitch/duopitch canopies (multispan roofs are supported), free-standing walls and signboards.
Considerable speed improvements in processing surface results.
Allows calculation with increased support stiffness, masses below a given level can be excluded from the analysis.
Analysis dialog can close itself automatically when the analysis is completed.
• New features for virtual beams and virtual strips
Axes of reduction can be customized, and cross-section can be assigned. Deformed shape can be displayed.
Nonlinear results: Displaying elastic / plastic / full strains for beam / rib / truss elements.
• New module FFA – Footfall analysis module
Footfall analysis module models footfall as a harmonic excitation within a given frequency range to check the vibration response factor.
• New module SD8 – Eurocode 3 fireproofing design for steel
• New features – RC2 module
Improved method of column reinforcement check for different buckling shapes.
The enhanced design method takes into account the y and z buckling shapes.
Check Local imperfections only if you have already defined imperfection as a structural load.
• New features – SD1 module
Eurocode 3 SLS deflection check .
• New features – SC1 module
Displaying connections defined in SC1 in rendered view, storing SC1 data in the model file.
Table Browser supports color coding of table cells helps the user to overview the table, identify equal / smaller / bigger values. Colors appear only on screen. This feature can be activated / deactivated within the Table Browser, see Format / Color coding of table cells.
In X4 Table Browser also supports sorting of table rows by one or more columns. Move the mouse over the header row to see that some columns under the mouse pointer turn from grey to bluish. Clicking on any of these column headers makes the header light blue and a triangle symbol appears on the right side of the header showing the ascending or descending order. More than one column can be selected for sorting. If multiple criteria are set they are applied in the order of they have been defined.
The order of multiple criteria can be checked right clicking on the header. The last menu item (Turning off sorting by columns) of the popup menu shows the order of criteria.
Rebar statistics includes beam and column reinforcement.
